National Children's Science Congress 2026

Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST) as the State Coordinator organized and coordinated the Children’s Science Congress at District and State level since year 2014.

The Children’s Science Congress (CSC) is a flagship program of the National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, designed to foster scientific temper among children through learning by doing. Open to children aged 10–17 years, the programme encourages teams of two to undertake research-based projects on local issues aligned with the annual focal theme, under the guidance of a mentor. By applying simple scientific methods to real-life problems, participants develop critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and a spirit of inquiry while contributing practical solutions for the betterment of their communities.

The theme for 2026 “SCIENCE AND INNOVATION FOR SUSTAINABILITY” is spread into five sub-themes:

  1. R5 for Waste Management (Reduce, Reuse, Retrieve, Redesign & Recycle)
  2. E4 for Energy: Explore, Experiment, Enhance & Evolve
  3. Water: Harvesting, Harnessing, Recycling & Conservation
  4. Food, Agriculture & Health
